Pakistan it seems is keeping pace with the technology revolution which has taken the whole world by storm. Latest data suggests that Pakistan would cross the figure of 40 million smart phones by the end of this year.
The 3G and 4G mobile users represent a figure of 30 million and are continuing to grow with the passage of time. The growing users of smart phones have thus given rise to an increased demand of smart phone in Pakistan. Research suggests that these smart phones represent the top selling category across all the major e-commerce platforms of Pakistan.
Though the figures are not clear in Pakistan as the smart phone import figure is measured in terms of value and not in terms of unit, market sources suggests that almost 20% of the smart phone import represent the smart phone import.
This increased demand of smart phones has also given rise to the popularity of the e-commerce platforms in Pakistan. However, it is important to note here that most of these e-commerce transactions originate from the cities of Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi.
It seems that this increase in the demand of smart phones in Pakistan is only a reflection of the increasing worldwide demand of smart phones.
